File format converter

GLB to glTF converter

Extract glTF JSON and its binary resource from a self-contained GLB. Download a ZIP and keep its files together.

Repackage locally

Select local files.

What transfers and what you lose

  • Up to 128 selected files totalling 64 MiB. The glTF JSON must be 8 MiB or smaller. Remote URLs, traversal paths, missing resources and ambiguous file names are rejected.
  • Packing supports core glTF 2.0 plus the documented material, texture-transform, light and quantisation extensions supported by the local packer. Draco, meshopt and custom extensions are not supported.
  • Extraction preserves embedded image bytes inside the BIN file; it does not create individual texture-image files. Geometry, material and animation values are not regenerated.
  • This is container repackaging, not validation, optimisation or repair. Use the validator and target viewer separately. Exported JSON retains original model metadata: review it before sharing.

Recommended workflow

  1. Select a self-contained GLB. Choose one GLB with embedded buffers and images.
  2. Extract the original data. Run locally and download the output. Your source files stay unchanged.
  3. Validate and inspect. Use the formal glTF validator for structural checks, then inspect appearance and scale in the destination viewer.

Frequently asked questions

Does this rebuild or simplify my model?

No. It repackages glTF scene data and binary resources. It does not decimate meshes or re-encode textures.

Are files uploaded?

No. Selected model resources are read locally in your browser; remote URLs are not fetched.

What is included in the extracted ZIP?

The glTF JSON, its original BIN data when present and a short handoff note. Image data remains in the BIN buffer views.
