Open a local PLY triangle mesh, orbit and inspect it, and read vertex counts, triangle counts and numeric bounds with an explicit unit assumption.
Choose a file or sample. Files stay in your browser.
Load a triangle mesh to inspect its geometry.
Read the model correctly
STL and PLY do not define physical units. Choose a unit interpretation only when you know the source units; the original mesh is not rescaled. This is visual inspection, not a watertightness, manifoldness or printability test.
Up to 50 MiB, 500,000 vertices and 1,000,000 triangles. ASCII and binary little/big-endian PLY with triangle/quad faces, XYZ, complete normals, two-component UVs and 8-bit RGB are supported. Point clouds, Gaussian splats, custom attributes, alpha and face colours are rejected.
Vertex count is the loaded mesh representation, not necessarily the number of unique spatial points. Missing normals are generated for the preview. Orbit lighting is an inspection aid; this viewer does not evaluate production materials.
PLY Viewer is a free, browser-based tool from XO3D Labs. Open a local PLY triangle mesh, orbit and inspect it, and read vertex counts, triangle counts and numeric bounds with an explicit unit assumption. It is built for 3D artists, CGI generalists and technical artists, runs entirely in your browser with no signup or install, and is one of 80 tools in the Labs suite.
What it does
Inspect a PLY triangle mesh locally with orbit, zoom, camera reset and wireframe controls. The summary reports meshes, vertices, triangles and transformed bounds.

Who is this tool for?
It is built for 3D artists, CGI generalists and technical artists working on product CGI and 3D production.
Is PLY Viewer free to use?
Yes. PLY Viewer is completely free, with no account, login, trial or paywall. It is one of 80 tools published by XO3D Labs.
Do I need to install anything or sign up?
No. The tool runs entirely in your web browser on desktop and mobile - there is nothing to download, install or sign up for.
Who created this tool?
XO3D is a UK-based, director-led product CGI studio headquartered in Stevenage, working with brands across the UK and internationally. XO3D Labs is its free tool suite for the CGI and product-marketing community.
Practical tools from XO3D, a director-led product CGI studio working with tech, industrial and premium consumer brands on product films, launch stills and interactive experiences.
That makes us the right choice for launch-critical work where the visual standard has to be high and the product may not exist yet. It makes us the wrong choice for three things: hundreds of routine SKUs to a fixed template, a permanently live self-service configurator across a large range, and the campaign idea itself.
